The Kobold dense blazing star is a perennial known for its fluffy purple inflorescences. The 40 to 70 centimetres tall plant blooms from July to September. Spike-shaped inflorescences develop from the bottom up and gradually take on colour, becoming a unique decoration of a flower beds or border. Tufts of the dense blazing star consist of grassy, uniformly green leaves. Clusters of flowers that appear among them belong to the most extraordinary among garden plants. Planting prairie feather, as this plant is also called in a larger group guarantees best visual results. Gently swinging purple fields imediately attract attention, becoming an attraction of every summer garden they appear in. Plant dense blazing star alone or together with daylilies, coneflowers, chrysanthemums, or delicate, low ornamental grasses.

The offered perennial belongs to the undemanding category. It prefers slightly moist soil, previously enriched with compost. It is valued by the gardeners because it fares well in sandy and even rocky ground. It cannot, however, stand moist, heavy, and loam soil. It needs a sunny place, but tolerates partial shade. It is not overly sensitive to periodic water shortages and does not require fertilization. Presented species is fully frost-resistant, and does not require digging up before the winter.
