A gladiolus, sometimes called a sword lily, of the presented Donatella variety will surprise many gardeners. Huge clusters of flowers that take on a warm salmon-pink colour, spread over a strong erect stem are really breath-taking. A dozen, sometimes even two dozen of flowers appear on one stem. The flowering of gladioli happens in in summer, in July and August. Gladioli that due to their size are perfectly fitted for growing on the border background or as plants that subtly divide garden into parts. They can be made into a flowering curtain for less attractive parts of the property or a unique decoration of the entrance.

Plant gladioli in spring. Put the bulbs into borders of rich, moderately moist soil that is rich in nutrients. The soil should also be permeable and non-acidic. Plants of these magnificent species are sensitive to the frost. You must excavate them in October, cut off the overground part and store until the following spring. Gladioli prefer soils that are rich in nutrients, fertilized, and moist. Discard green stem rests and root remains and dry bulbs in the sun or in an airy room. Clean the corms and store them until next season. Keep the storage room cool and airy. Plant bulbs again on borders in spring.

One package contains 5 gladioli bulbs of the presented variety. These bulbs are sized 12/14 centimetres in circumference. The basic plant information and growing instructions can be found on the package label.
