Dwarf pot marigold "Calando" (Tagetes erecta) with yellow blooms is characterized by relatively small height, reaching maximally 30 cm. This variety develops large, double inflorescences that measure 5 - 6 cm in diameter. Unicolour, bright yellow flowers are gathered in round flower heads. This dwarf variety will look great on lower borders in company of other low growing flowers, or planted on the edgings. "Calando" may also be used in flower arrangements on sunny balconies and terraces.

This undemanding annual plant would grow in almost every kind of soil, however it will grow best in a fertile soil. It thrives on sunny and partially shady sites. Pot marigold is easy in cultivation and its seeds germinate effectively and quickly. Seeds should be sown early in spring in heated room or mid-May directly to the ground. After the risk of spring frosts has passed, the seedlings may be transplanted outside. "Calando" pot marigold will delight with its blooms all summer long until first autumn frosts.
