Dwarf pot marigold "Calando" (Tagetes erecta) with orange blooms grows 30 cm tall. It produces round, bright orange inflorescences. Large, double flowers measure 5 - 6 cm in diameter. These plants stand out with very long blooming period. They will adorn your garden from June until late autumn. They look great on lower borders and flower beds and can be arranged in beautiful edgings. Thanks to their small size they may also be grown in containers.
Pot marigold seeds should be sown in early spring to boxes or seeding trays under covers. You may also sow directly to the field mid-May. Seeds germinate rapidly and you should expect the emergence after 7 - 14 days. Transplant seedlings to the target site in the second half of May, when the risk of spring frosts has passed. These plants are undemanding and grow well in almost every kind of soil, provided it is fertile. They will thrive on sunny sites.
