The Eyecatcher Oriental poppy is a unique variety that surprises with its flower colour. Large orange-red cups with dark spots at the base provide a unique display of the plant's beauty. They develop from late spring to early summer atop stiff stalks. The paper-like petals flutter charmingly in the wind, making every landscape truly picturesque. Oriental poppies grow in tufts that consist of pinnate leaves and long, slender stems that carry a single flower. They grow between 50 and 70 centimetres tall. The entire surface of the plants is covered with characteristic hairs. Oriental poppies bloom in May and June. After that, they go into a state of dormancy as their leaves gradually dry up. Poppies are wonderful flowers. They harmonize with chrysanthemums, irises, larkspurs, and lupins. They complement rustic, country, and oriental gardens very well.

Poppies are easy to grow. They display great vigour as long as they are planted in calciferous, well-drained soil at a dry and sunny situation. Loosen the soil before planting, if necessary add some coarse sand. Poppies do not require much care. Post-flowering pruning is highly recommended, moderate fertilization only if necessary. Divide and transplant tufts that grow too dense.

We hereby offer one seedling of the Eyecatcher Oriental poppy. Basic plant information and growing tips were printed on the packaging label.
