The false shamrock (Oxalis triangularis), offered here in 50 piece packages, is true rarity on the market. This stunning perennial that you can find in our garden store, produces equally ornamental leaves and flowers. It takes on a tuft habit and grows 25 centimetres tall and wide. Its leaves look like substantially enlarged clover leaves, but are crimson red and consist of triangular leaflets. Tiny, five-petal, pale pink flowers appear in large numbers atop the erect stalks in July and August.
False shamrock is an ideal plant for rock gardens, sunny borders, edgings, and pots. Presented perennial attracts attention through its spectacular foliage that creates intriguing, contrasting composition with subtle flowers. It is worth to plant it next to other modestly sized plants, such as pink ever-flowering begonia, a double granny's bonnet, or silver ragwort. Presented species needs a warm, sunny site and a highly permeable soil, that should also be fertile and watered during the summer heat periods. Plant false shamrocks in spring. Dig out their rhizomes in autumn to store them over the winter in a cool basement.
One package contains 50 false shamrock rhizomes. Essential growing instructions have been printed on each package.
