Freesia 'White' is a variety with single flowers in a pure white colour. The blooms have a distinctive, slightly trumpet-shaped form and open on slender stems in one-sided inflorescences. The pale petals stand out clearly against the narrow, light green leaves, so the plant looks very effective in summer plantings. Freesias are also valued for their pleasant, sweet fragrance, which is most noticeable on warm days. The white flowers are easy to combine with other flowering plants.
Plant the bulbs in spring, preferably in April or May.
The recommended planting depth is 6-8 cm.
Plant 10 cm apart.
Freesia reaches a height of 30-50 cm.
Flowers from July to August.
It is not frost-hardy, so the bulbs should be lifted in autumn and stored in a dry, cool place until spring.
Freesias are well suited to flower beds and to containers on balconies and terraces. The pale flowers bring lightness to the garden and contrast with the stronger colours of other plants. The flowers are also suitable for cutting and are often used in bouquets.
