The "Ben Venuto" gladiolus (Gladiolus) is a tempting, exciting variety that produces coral-pink blooms with a yellow spots in the flower centres. These attention attracting large blooms form dense ears over the linear, spiky leaves. Gladiolus plants develop an erect habit, consisting of a slender, stiff flowering stalk. A single "Ben Venuto" gladiolus flower has wavy petals. A contrasting, spreading spot is clearly visible at the perianth. Stamina protruding from the middle only add lightness to the already adorable flowers. These tall, 120 - 140 cm, gladioli develop up to 23 buds at one stalk. They open gradually starting at the bottom, ensuring long-blooming that may last for up two weeks. In order to further extend the flowering period, we recommend to plant gladioli bulbs in several batches, a few days apart.

Gladioli bulbs should be planted from mid April, when the soil has sufficiently warmed and dried. A sunny, wind-sheltered site where the plants would not be exposed to wind gusts are recommended for gladiolus cultures. These magnificent bulb plants would grow on almost every kind of soil, yet the most spectacular ones would develop on soils rich in organic matter. Gladioli bulbs do not winter in the ground and need to be excavated before winter. Store them in cool, aerated rooms.
