Gladioli are cormous plants that develop funnel-shaped blooms. They are used first and foremost as cut flower and for planting on the borders. They own their name (gladiolus means sword in Latin) to their characteristically shaped leaves. The "Orange Sun" variety stands out with intense, orange colouring of the flowers and may grow up to 1.5 m tall. It should be grown on a sunny site and in a permeable, fertile soil. Plant the corms (or bulbo-tubers) in spring circa 12-15 cm deep and in similar distances. Water the plants regularly in summer, particularly during periodic water shortages. Gladioli do not belong to frost-resistant plants and therefore need to be excavated from the borders before the winter and stored in the appropriate conditions. Gladioli belong to popular, best-selling plants and therefore can often be seen during their blooming time (July, August, September) in their most stunning, fully developed form. Gladioli look great as a background for lower growing plants, but they will also delight planted in larger, unicolour groupings. Please note, that many multi-species compositions will lose a large part of their charm without gladioli.
We hereby offer 5 "Orange Sun" gladiolus bulbs. Growing and maintenance instructions were attached to the package.
