Lettuce "Salad Bowl" (Lactuca sativa var. foliosa) is a variety that produces large, decorative rosettes of green leaves that, as name suggests, resemble oak leaves in shape. They are tender and tasty. You may harvest them all at once or gradually, as they ripen. They are a great addition to salads and sandwiches. This lettuce may also be grown in pots as an ornamental plant thanks to its compact, extremely ornamental leaf rosettes.

Seedlings need to be transplanted to the permanent site from April to September in 30 x 30 cm spacings. Lettuce will yield richest crops on fertile, humous, sandy-clay, rapidly warming up soil on sunny sites. You may harvest the leaves from mid-May until October.
