Heather and heather-like plants fertiliser - Sumin - 1 kg is used in the cultivation of ericaceous plants when the aim is to maintain an acidic growing medium and ensure abundant, long-lasting flowering. The product is intended for fertilising heathers and heather-like plants growing in gardens, and its composition meets the needs of these species during the growth and bud-setting period. Well-balanced proportions of nutrients support proper plant development, which is why it is worth including this fertiliser in the regular care of heather beds.
Proper nutrition encourages the formation of a greater number of flower buds, so the plants bloom more abundantly and for longer, and their colours remain vivid. Maintaining the correct soil reaction improves the growing conditions of heathers and heather-like plants, which translates into better condition of the whole clumps. Heather and heather-like plants fertiliser also supports plant resistance to disease and more difficult weather conditions.

The fertiliser is intended for heathers and heather-like plants grown in sunny positions, in humus-rich, permeable and acidic soils. It can be used when preparing the growing medium before planting as well as for fertilising plants already growing. The recommended application period is from March to July, with the final application to be carried out by the end of July so as not to reduce the plants' winter hardiness.
When preparing the growing medium for planting, use 20-50 g of fertiliser for every 100 litres of a mix of soil with acidic peat or conifer bark. For plants already growing, the recommended dose is 20-50 g per m² of area. The yearly amount is best divided into 3 parts: the first in March or April, the second in May or June, and the third in July. During periods of drought, the dose should be reduced by 30-50%, and for mycorrhizal plants reduced by 20-30%.
Before planting, dig a hole 25-30 cm deep and mix the excavated soil with acidic peat or conifer bark in a 1:1 ratio. Then add the fertiliser to the prepared growing medium and mix thoroughly so as to obtain an acidic soil reaction at pH 4.0-4.5. When fertilising plants already growing, spread the granules evenly around the clumps. If necessary, after applying the fertiliser, it is worth watering the plants with soft water, preferably rainwater.
The pack contains 1 kg of heather and heather-like plants fertiliser. The product helps maintain the proper growing conditions for ericaceous plants and supports their flowering, which makes it well suited for the regular care of beds and heath-like plantings.
