Hippeastrum – amaryllis – "Picotee" is an elegant variety, whose blooms consist of pearl-white petals with pink edges. This perennial that is available in our store may be successfully grown at home and on balconies. It grows 50-60 cm tall, develops an erect habit consisting of green, linear leaves gathered in an ornamental rosette at the top of the bulb. A naked, erect stem sprouts from the tuft of the stiff leaves. It ends with a cluster of magnificent, large, trumpet-shaped blooms. Each of the white petals has a dark pink edges that makes "Picotee" stand out from other single coloured amaryllis varieties.
Even the beginning admirers of bulbous perennials will master growing amaryllis. "Picotee" hippeastrum blooms abundantly within already 6-8 weeks after planting. It produces large blooms in every fertile, light garden soil that retains water. The site should be sheltered from winds and sunny – this plant tolerates, though, partially shady sites, upon which the sun shines only a few hours per day.
