Levant Cotton is a perennial plant that grows 50 to 80 centimetres in height; with flappy leaves, this variety is recommended to be grown on terraces, indoors, as well as in winter gardens. From the summer to the autumn, the plant produces large, yellowish-creamy or pinkish-campanulate flowers. After it has stopped flowering, its white, flocculent inflorescences perform a decorative function. The cut shoots with infructescences are ideal for dry flower arrangements. Levant Cotton should be watered fairly often during its vegetative phase.
Growing: sow the seeds in pots (6 to 8 centimetres in diameter) or in pallet planters from March to April. The seeds germinate in 7 to 14 days at the temperature above 20oC. Pluck the seedlings that have developed 4 to 5 leaves in order to stimulate tillering. Cultivate the plant in a sunny position with fertile soil at 15-18oC. Frequently replenish it in the vegetative phase.
