The time for planting gladioli bulbs comes in spring, end of April and start of May. We recommend planting them in a fertile, humous, permeable, and moderately moist soil. Such growing conditions ensure healthy and strong plants that bloom abundantly. A sunny spot that is also sheltered from winds is the best site for tall gladioli that tend to lodge under the weight of flowers. Staking seems to be the best solution for this problem. Place the bulbs in holes that are deep thrice the height of the bulb, 10 to 20 centimetres apart.
