The ornamental garlic "Miami" (Allium) is a perennial that blooms in summer. Its large inflorescences will reign over the borders, as these plants grow up to 100 cm tall. Their blooms retain the ornamental value for a long time and the blooming period extends from end of May up to beginning of July. "Miami" Allium develops large, semicircular umbels, that consist of small, shiny, star-shaped blooms. The crimson-purple inflorescences look great together with white flowers and among the airy ornamental grasses. You may cut them and put into vases or used them dried in many different arrangements.

Bulbs of this ornamental garlic "Miami" should be planted in autumn, although they may also be grown from spring planting. Choose a sunny or partially shady site. Humous, yet permeable soil suits this exceptional variety best. The soil needs to be properly drained, yet moist. Place the bulbs 10 – 12 cm deep in 15 – 20 cm distances. This species is frost resistant and does not need to be excavated before the winter.
