The 'Amabilis' peony (Paeonia lactiflora) whose root set we hereby offer is a charming representative of the highly coveted bicolour peonies. The ornamental features of its double, large flowers are breath-taking. A white ball of densely packed milk white petals unfolds over a collar of broad, oval, pale pink bracts. These unusual flowers grow large and picturesquely tower over the bush of vividly green leaves. Tufts of the 'Amabilis peony bloom in May and June. Thanks to the compact, bushy habit and the unmatched beauty of the flowers they are widely used as decoration of flower beds, lawns and relaxation spots. This tall (80 to 90 cm) peony is a splendid plant for filling the centres of perennial arrangements. It starts to bloom when late tulips still adorn the garden and therefore builds a bridge between the late spring and summer plants. It is also worth to have it garden in single plantings. Its pastel coloured blooms look great on a trimmed showcase lawn. The variety offered here can also be used in compositions with other peony cultivars, such as the dark pink 'Edulis Superba', 'Felix Crouse' and 'Karl Rosenfield'.

Spring is the right time to start growing this magnificent plant. Plant peony root sets on sunny or partially shady sites in fresh and properly cultivated soil. The moderately compact, moist, yet not waterlogging soil that is rich in humus would be best for growing peonies. The hardy peony can winter in the ground without covering and will bloom equally abundantly each year. The tremendous bicolour flowers of the 'Amabilis' peony can be cut and put into vases. The stalks cut when the buds start to break will adorn your home for a long time.

Package contains 10 root set of the 'Amabilis' peony. The basic plant growing instructions were printed on the package.
