"Zlata" pepper (Capsicum annuum) is a medium early variety intended for cultivation in the field. It develops pale yellow, elongated fruit with fleshy and exceptionally aromatic flesh. Fruit of this variety are perfect for direct, raw consumption. Peppers are vegetables of high nutritional and gustatory value. They contain large amounts of vitamin C (four times more than lemon), beta-carotene, potassium, sodium, calcium and iron. Pepper fruit also contain capsaicin, a substance that shows strong anti-cancer effects. Yellow peppers are rich in lutein that beneficially affects your sight. Low-calorie content of the pepper makes it possible to eat it in large quantities, both raw and cooked, as addition to many meals and sauces.

Seeds of the "Zlata" pepper are sown earliest possible in spring to pots in warm interiors, as they need temperature between 20 and 26°C to germinate. Plant seedlings on the permanent site at the end of May / beginning of June in 50 x 50 cm spacings. Fruit can be harvested gradually as they ripen from July to September. Pepper grows best in permeable, fertile soil with neutral or slightly acidic reaction. You should mulch the ground around the plants to protect them from weeds and cold. Grow peppers on sunny and warm sites. Plants need regular watering in July and August.
