The Alstroemeria Lutea Peruvian lily is an ornamental perennial. Its erect, 60 to 80 centimetres tall stems covered with resupinate, lanceolate, green leaves carry golden-yellow flowers with contrasting striped pattern on selected petals. A Peruvian lily inflorescence consists of up to twenty single funnel-shaped flowers. Those exuberant, wavy clusters of flowers look spectacular at the background of dense foliage. Peruvian lily has gained quite a following among florists. Thanks to the high durability, cut Peruvian lily constitutes valued material for bouquets and other arrangements. Growing the plant in a pot or a garden is still less popular, despite the plant looking marvellous in these surroundings too. We recommend planting Peruvian lily in small groups of up to a dozen specimens.
As its Southern American origin would suggest, Peruvian lily loves warmth and sunlight. Plant the species in a well-drained, fertile, loosened, acidic soil that is rich in nutrients. Put tubers into holes with a drainage layer and a dab of compost at the bottom in spring. Mulch the site. Taking care of this plant does not require much time or attention. Make sure to maintain stable soil humidity. Weed and feed plants regularly. Inca lily, as this plant is sometimes called, must be dug out in winter and stored in soil-filled boxes. The attempt to let tubers winter in the ground under a thick layer of covering is risky.
Each package contains one first choice rhizome of the Alstroemeria Lutea Peruvian lily. Essential plant facts and growing instructions were printed on the package label.
