The Alstroemeria Roze Peruvian lily is a beautiful perennial that originates from South Africa. Its underground tuberous rhizomes propagate and produce tufts of light green stems surrounded by long lanceolate leaves. Pink, umbellate clusters of flowers that consist of ten to thirty funnel-shaped flowers tower over the rich foliage. Spectacular Peruvian lilies, adorned with dark spots, present high ornamental value. They flower long and abundantly in a flower bed, lawn, or in a pot. Presented species provides durable, sought-after cut flower. Florists commonly use this flower in their work, among others in wedding bouquets.
Peruvian lily thrives in a well-lit situation that should also be sheltered from wind gusts. The soil should be light, permeable, fertile, and rich in nutrients, preferably with a neutral or slightly acidic reaction. Water the plant regularly, yet moderately, preventing both drying and waterlogging of the ground. Fertilizing and removing faded flowers complete the maintenance this species requires from its grower.
Peruvian lily belongs to plants that require winter protection. Dig out the rhizomes after the end of the vegetation season to store them in boxes in temperature between 6 and 16ºC.
