Polish Flowers - Sunflower 'Amor Arnold' (Helianthus annuus) is a medium tall variety that grows 100-120 cm tall. It produces striking, lemony-yellow flowers that contrast with dark, almost black centres. These plants develop large, first and main inflorescences and numerous side stalks atop of which blooms develop, too. These popular garden plants fit into background of border arrangements because of their height. You may also cut sunflowers and place them into vases, where they would stay fresh for a long time.

You may sow sunflower seeds directly to the place where they are supposed to bloom later. Spring, no later than June, is the best time for this activity. Because of the large size and height of the plants in question we recommend sowing in 40x50 cm spacings. Sunflowers feel best at sunny borders, where they would bloom all summer long until beginning of autumn. They thrive on fertile, permeable soils that are rich in humus.
