The Royal Gift tulip is a sophisticated representative of the lily-flowered tulips. Distinctive, even flashy tulips of the offered variety enchant with a beautiful, slender shape that gives them a unique character. Typically for lily-flowered tulips, its petals bend their pointed tips outwards. A smooth colour transition from yellow at the base of the calyx to blood-red at the tips of the petals only adds to the exceptional appearance of the flowers. Sturdy, quite long stems that measure from forty to fifty centimetres and are surrounded by grey-green leaves offer a great background for the graceful flowers. Royal Gift tulips excel as garden plants and cut flowers.

Tulips should fare well in every kind of soil, but sandy-loam, moderately compact soil is considered best for their development. Tulips love the sun, but they can also settle for a semi-shaded place. Taking care of tulips is far from complicated. It comes down to weeding, watering during drought, and fertilizing during intensive growth stages. We highly recommend topping plants after the flowering period is over. Tulips may stay in the ground for several seasons, but in that case they require regular fertilization and soil loosening. To upkeep the abundant flowering, it is therefore advisable to excavate bulbs in summer and replant them in the fall.

One package contains five bulbs of the Royal Gift tulip, sized 11/12 centimetres in circumference. Basic plant facts and growing instructions were printed on the package label.
