The runnerless wild strawberry - rich in vitamin C and minerals - is an easy to care for, frost-sensitive and vigorous perennial plant that bears fruit all summer long. In case of this cultivar offered in our store removing of the runners, that sprout all season long in other cultivars and hamper fruit development, is superfluous. This wild strawberry produces large, beautifully scented, exceptionally sweet, red dessert fruit. These berries have valuable nutritional properties: are a rich source of vitamin C, minerals (potassium, calcium, magnesium), carotenoids, flavonoids and glycosides. Infusion made of wild strawberry leaves shows diuretic and diaphoretic properties, helps in constipation and speeds up healing of the wounds.

Runnerless wild strawberry (Fragaria vesca) requires humous, slightly moist, moderately fertile soils with a reaction between pH 5.5 and 6.5. It may grow in the sun or partial shade. It does not need any care measures apart from watering during drought periods. Thanks to the compact habit and low height it is easy to find a spot for this plant in the garden.
