Squash Sweet Dumpling seeds - Cucurbita pepo
Squash ‘Sweet Dumpling’ is an annual plant with trailing or reclining shoots; for trailing, you need to grow it with plant supports. The orange flesh of its fruit is very sweet and tasty, and can be used for many purposes. This variety grows 5 to 8 metres in length and flowers from July to August. Squash ‘Sweet Dumpling’, thanks to its unique colours and a characteristic shape, is a top choice for decorating arbours, walls or fences.
Growing: sow the seeds directly into the soil in early May; sow 2 to 3 seeds in each position in 50-80cm spacings. The seeds germinate in 10 to 14 days. The plants grow best in relatively moist fertile soils in sunny positions.
