"Pansy Lavender Flash" sweet pea (Lathyrus odoratus) is a charming variety producing white-pink flowers. This annual plant possesses extraordinary ornamental value and is highly regarded for its beautiful blooms and nice, subtle smell. Shoots of this creeper may grow up to 120 cm long, so you need to provide them with supports upon which they would climb. It develops numerous, quite large flowers that are gathered in small groups on short pedicels and adorn the plants from early summer to late autumn. Sweet pea quickly grows over all kinds of supports an fences, hence we recommend to cover gazebos or other relaxation spots with it in order to enjoy the subtle scent of its blooms. It would also work great on railings and lattices.

Sow sweet pea seeds mid-April or at the beginning of May directly to the permanent site, 2 - 3 seeds per hole. You could also sow a few weeks earlier to pots indoors and transplant outside in May. We recommend 15 x 20 cm spacings. Sweet pea is an undemanding plant that is easy-to-grow. It grows and blooms abundantly on a sunny and warm site. It will thrive in almost every kind of garden soil, particularly in a fertile, humous and well drained one.
