Lily "Robert Swanson" (Lilium) is true border giant: this majestic perennial grows up to 200 cm tall and carries a "crown" of several XXL-sized, bowl-shaped blooms atop its stem. Blooms of this variety attract attention with their contrasting, red-yellow colouring. "Robert Swanson" lily belongs to the orienpet variety group consisting of hybrids of the trumpet and oriental lilies. It has inherited the exotic beauty and ornamental value from the capricious oriental lilies, but shows definitely better resistance to Central European climate conditions and lesser cultivation requirements. The variety offered in our store blooms in July and August and thrives on sunny and partially shady sites on humus-rich soils.
You may plant "Robert Swanson" OT lily bulbs in spring or autumn. Grow this variety in groups of at least three for best results. You may also plant this lily in company of other tall tree lily varieties, such as the red-white "Robert Griesbach" or crimson-orange "Red Morning".
