Tulip bulbs planted in autumn will grow well in almost every type of garden soil, provided it is permeable and not too compact. They need a site with at least 5 to 6 hours of sunlight exposure daily. You can also plant them among trees and deciduous shrubs, whose foliage is not fully developed during the blooming period. Plant the bulbs 10 to 15 centimetres deep. Water them after the planting in order to let the plants take root before the winter. If you haven' fertilized tulips with compost before planting, you can feed the tulips with multicomponent fertilizers until they start to bloom. Water them regularly until the leaves start to yellow naturally. You do not have to excavate the bulbs every year, even though we recommend to do so. Dry and clean the bulbs after digging the out end of June of beginning of July and store until the next planting in a ventilated place.
