The Crystal Star fringe tulip can be considered a limited edition of the popular spring flower with its bright yellow flowers. Subtly fringed edges of each petal add a refreshing touch to the classic flower cups. That flower form adds an extra texture to flower beds in your garden. Bowl-shaped flowers delight with their clean saturated yellow colour. The first among the colours of spring is simply perfect for introducing a cheerful note to garden arrangements. The luminescent golden colour of the Crystal Star tulip, underscored with the fringed edges, adds a touch of extravaganza to this traditional variety. Strong and erect stalks of the fringe (Crispa) tulips grow relatively tall what allows them to elegantly swing in the wind. Planted in rows in a colour mix with other varieties, they create a wonderful phenomenon that is worth seeing. The up to 60 centimetres tall tulips unfold their magnificent yellow flowers at the end April and beginning of May. Presented variety is perfectly suited for growing of flower beds and in large planters. Crystal Star belongs to the most attractive varieties that can be used in spring compositions and bouquets.

In order to enjoy large tulip flowers, plant tulip bulbs in autumn. Tulips require a permeable, light, and fertile soil. The place should be sunny and moderately moist. Plant the bulbs in groups, about 10 to 15 centimetres deep and apart. Tulips usually react well to organic and mineral fertilization. You can feed them with complex fertilizers until they start to produce buds. Prune the flowers to make sure that they bloom equally well in the next season. Remove all wilted and withered flowers. This measure increases the number of produced bulbils and therefore allows you to grow more plants the next year. You do not have to dig out tulip bulbs every year, even though it is sometimes recommended. Excavating of the bulbs ensures nice flowering and reduces the risk of diseases. Dig out the bulbs in summer after all the leaves have wilted. Bulbs that are cleaned of the soil and slightly dried should be stored in an airy and cool room. Plant them again in autumn.
