The Drakensteyn tulip belongs to the popular and beloved fringe (Crispa) tulips. In contrary to the majority of its cousins, its blooms are deeply dentate, what gives them an attractive, light, feathery appearance. The flowers of the presented variety take on two shades of pink: the pastel, subdued tones mix with the saturated fuchsia. The fully developed plants measure 40 to 45 cm in height. The marvellous Drakensteyn tulip blooms at the end of April and the first half of May. This variety is dedicated for cultivation on spring perennial borders, with other tulips on lawns and along lawn edges and paths. It is a valuable component of fresh bouquets.

The bulbs of the Drakensteyn tulip should be planted 10-12 cm deep in a permeable and humous soil. The planting may take place all autumn long. The hardy, vigorous fringe tulips may stay on the same site for years, developing more and more bulbs and blooming more abundantly with every year. The varieties with pink flowers, such as the Drakensteyn, harmonize with the yellow (Ice Cream Banana, Lemon Chiffon), purple (Shirley Double, Violet Prana) and viridiflora (Green Glow, Green Spirit, Maureen Double) tulips.

Each package contains 5 bulbs of the Drakensteyn tulip, sized 11 to 12 cm. The most important plant growing tips were included in the package information.
