The exceptionally beautiful Foxy Foxtrot tulip is the master of the three colour dance. Its double, tender flowers that consist of frizzled petals combine pink, yellow and orange spiced with a hint of green. This versatile beauty will become your favourite as soon as you see it live. This cheerful and unique and at the same time elegant tulip is worth planting at the showcase garden spots. It will light up your garden with its unusual colours from the last week of April. It is perfect for smaller borders and looks great on lawns. The pot and planter arrangements of this flower do not only introduce colour, but the pleasant aroma, too. The blushing yellow-orange Foxy Foxtrot tulips belong to the cut flowers that are most coveted by the florists.
Tulip bulbs have to be planted in autumn. September and October are considered the perfect time for planting. The optimal planting depth equals two heights of a bulb. The planting distance depends on the visual effect you would like to achieve. Allow 15 - 20 cm between the bulbs and the same distance between rows on average.
Tulips are rather undemanding in regard to growing conditions. These plants do not require much attention from the gardener. You only need to learn their basic requirements regarding the site in order to enjoy the beautiful flowers. Tulips grow best in the medium heavy to light soil. The loam-sandy soil should be permeable, rich in nutrients and the organic matter. It is recommended to avoid planting tulips in the waterlogged, acid, heavy or dried soil. Tulips prefer sunny sites, yet several hours of shade per day will not hurt them. We recommend to prepare the site for tulip cultivation in advance. The soil should be cultivated, weeded and the larger stones removed from it. The admixture of finely ground compost will provide the bulbs with the much needed support at the start. You may also add some sand in order to make the soil lighter. Tulips do not need to be excavated every year, but we recommend to do so every 3 to 4 years in order to strengthen the plants. This would also allow you to propagate the tulips by separating the bulblets. Tulips tolerate Central European winters and may grow at the same site for at least a few years.
Each package contains 5 bulbs of the Foxy Foxtrot tulip. The packaging label contains the basic information about the plant and the growing instructions.
