The Orange Emperor tulip is a low growing Fosteriana variety that surprises with its unique bright orange flower colour. This tulip, who unfolds its charm very early in spring, is warmth and optimism personified. Tulips that belong to that group usually grow about 35 centimetres tall and develop a compact habit. Their spectacular brightly coloured flowers are large. The slightly unfolding petals with a lighter stripe running through the middle have a shiny surface that is clearly visible on the background of green petiole-less leaves.  These low growing flowering plants provide excellent material for more formal flower beds but also fit into rock gardens and planters. Presented variety is recommended for edgings, lawns, and cut flower.

Tulips do nor require any special care from the gardener. Topping the plants - removing of the wilted flowers - is one of the most important grower's tasks. Leave the leaves to dry as their main goal is to supply the bulb with nutrients. Tulips belong to frost resistant plants and can therefore winter in the ground. There is one reason though, for excavating the bulbs. It makes them stronger and bloom more abundantly. Bulbs left in the soil for years tend to get weaker and smaller. Feed tulips to ensure the best possible results. Complex fertilizers are recommended. Use them until the plants start to develop flowers.

Tulips should be planted in a permeable, fertile, moderately moist, and light soil. The site should be sunny - these flowers love the sun yet grow well under leafless trees and larger shrubs. Planting tulip bulbs is a typical gardening task for autumn. You can plan tulip arrangements all September and October long. Planting depth usually does not exceed 10 to 15 centimetres. Plants should be grown in similar distances.
