The Pulchella tulip is a bulbous plant that in the wild grows in Turkey, Iran and Iraq. In horticulture it is considered a botanical tulip variety that is widely grown as an ornamental plant. This dwarf tulip strikes with its beauty. It produces carmine red and pink tear-shaped petals. Their broader bases are yellow and form a round spot inside the flower. Darker stripes might appear at the outer side of the petals. The large flowers that develop from spherical buds unfold completely on sunny days. The leaves of the presented variety are long, lanceolate, grey green with a red edge. They shoot from the bulb and form a rosette. In early spring one, seldom two or three blooms, appears on the flowering stalk. The colourful, vividly coloured tufts are perfect for rock and alpine gardens. They will sparkle with their satin petals on borders. The Odalisque variety comes with various advantages. It is easy in cultivation and will add plenty of colour to the still grey post winter landscape. She can be considered a small garden champion.

The low growing tulips are usually easy to cultivate. They grow best on sunny or partially shady sites that are moderately moist. The soil needs to be fertile, permeable and moderately compact. The bulbs of the botanical tulips are usually smaller than those of the traditional varieties. Plant them in autumn at the depth that equals two or three heights of the bulb and in similar distances. Water the site after planting the bulbs. We recommend to cover it with dry leaves or twigs before the winter.

Each package contains 5 bulbs of the Pulchella Odalisque tulip, sized 6 to 7 cm in circumference. The basic plant information and growing instructions were printed on the package label.
