The Ursus Poly polygerm fodder beet is a variety that supplies large volumes of orange-yellow roots. It is a productive and vigorous variety. Its plants stand out with excellent health and do not tend to shoot flower stalks too early. Its broad, cylindrical roots do not gather much soil. They grow up to 40% deep in the soil, what allows to harvest them manually without much effort. The rich nutrient content encompasses easily available sucrose, while the carotene additionally improves beneficial properties of the plant.
Fodder beet constitute a valuable fodder for many farm animals. You can use them to feed cattle, pigs, horses, sheep, goats, and poultry, who eagerly devour it. Fodder beet stands out with excellent nutritional and energy-supplying properties. Juicy and healthy fodder beet increase milk production and its protein and fat content. Pigs fed with beet give delicious, lean meat, while the hens would definitely improve their egg-laying performance.
The optimal sowing time is the first and second decade of April, delay the sow to the third decade of April in cooler regions. The Ursus Poly beet needs fertile soil to develop well. A non-acidic, permeable soil is also a must. It brings more yield in regions with larger rainfall.
