The Vermeer arum (or calla) lily is bulbous perennial that produces characteristic flowers. The unique, noble, and elegant calla lily of the presented variety produces bicolour flowers. The colourful white-purple spathe surrounds a centrally positioned cob-shaped cluster of flowers. You can grow this magnificent plant in a pot, on a border in the garden, or on a lawn. Calla lily flowers are extremely durable cut flowers and have therefore belonged to florists' favourites for years. Plants grown in the garden will also dazzle with the length of the flowering period. The trumpet-resembling flowers appear among the dense foliage from June until beginning of August. Presented variety, named after a famous Dutch painter, is also famous for its decorative leaves. They have long petioles, take on a bright green colour with silvery spots. The Vermeer arum lily is a stunning beauty that will bring you much joy at home and in the garden.
You need a warm site that is sheltered from wind to grow calla lily. It should be bright, yet not exposed to the scorching sun. This species requires a permeable, humous, and light soil. Irrespective of the fact if you decide to grow it in a pot or garden, a drainage layer is a must. Before the first significant temperature drops, you must dig out the bulbs grown in the garden. Transfer them inside and cover with a thin layer of peat. Plant them again in spring.
We hereby offer one bulb of the Vermeer calla lily, sized 18/20 centimetres in circumference. Basic plant facts and growing instructions were printed on the package label.
