The white-flowered baby's breath is a perennial that produces myriads of small flowers. It's commonly known as a popular as addition to bouquets and various fresh and dry arrangements. It can also be found in gardens, where it delights with its beauty in vicinity of parapets and large stones. You can plant it in large spreading tufts on lawns or as a filler for other species on flower beds. Baby's breath is easy to grow, undemanding and can be used in a variety of ways. The subtle mist of flowers that floats over paths or rock gardens looks truly picturesque. The 60 to 100 centimetres tall plant flowers from July to September. Dense bushes of slender stems might at times require staking.

Baby's breath does not have any special site requirements. It likes sunny and warm sites, as it does not tolerate shade. It blooms abundantly when grown in light, permeable, alkaline soil. It will develop poorly in moist and heavy soil. We recommend to feed it with a multicomponent flowering plant fertilizer on meagre soils. Apart from the standard maintenance the plants should be regularly trimmed, so they produce more fresh shoots.

Baby's breath rhizomes should be planted in spring, in April and May. Set them 6 to 8 centimetres deep.

This species is hardy and does not need to be excavated.

The price quoted above is valid for 1 first choice root set. The essential plant information and basic growing instructions can be found in the packaging information.
