The white garden Arabis, even though it belongs to the cabbage family, is widely grown in gardens as an ornamental plant. This long-living perennial grows 10-20 cm tall and develops large, dense carpets. The loose rosettes of oval, dentate, green-grey leaves are evergreen. The mountain rock cress, as it is also called, is frost resistant and quickly enters the flowering period. Its white four-petal flowers start to appear in March already and are gathered in clusters that grow bigger as more flowers develop. These snow-white beauties marvellously adorn walls, rock gardens and elevated embankments. They cover the ground tightly and can therefore be used as a carpet bedding. You may plant it on the border edges as a contrasting background for other plants.

The garden Arabis does not have any special requirements. It grows well in a lesser, permeable, yet not too dry soil. It prefers sunny situations and does not require any special care.

Sow the seeds in spring in greenhouses, into containers or onto a seedbed. You may also sow directly to the ground in mid-May. Transfer the well developed seedlings to the target site in August and September.

One package contains 0.5 g of the white garden Arabis seeds. The basic plant facts and growing tips were printed on the back of the package.
