Wormwood, also known as Absinthium, is a perennial plant with grayish-green foliage, which is highly aromatic and a little bitter in flavour. This plant is commonly used as a protection against insects, and has qualities that stimulate appetite and digestion, for which it is highly valued. Wormwood, which is also used as a decorative variety, grows around 100 centimetres in height.
Growing: sow the seeds from March to May. Plant out into a permanent position in 50x50cm spacings in May. The plants flower from June to September and love sunny positions; they are ready to be harvested from June.
