Ornamental squash "Butelkowa" (Cucurbita pepo) is an ornamental variety of the common gourd. This annual, creeping or sprawling plant develops strong, thick shoots that reach 5 to 8 m in length. They are equipped with strong tendrils, what allows them to effectively cover all supports. Large intensely green leaves with entire edges densely grow on the stalks, on which in summer large yellow flowers appear. This squash produces differently shaped and sized fruit that take on nice, light green colour. In general they take on an interesting, bottle-like shape with a distinct narrowing. Thick foliage and great looking fruit make it a perfect plant for covering supports, gazebos and fences. Dried, bottle-shaped gourds will adorn our home.
This plant grows rapidly and is very easy in cultivation. Seeds of the "Butelkowa" ornamental squash are sown in spring, 2 - 3 seeds per hole, directly at the site, where they should mature. We should keep 50 - 100 cm spacing between the plants. Seedlings should appear 10 to 14 days after the sow. These plants will thrive on sunny or partially shady sites. They prefer fertile soils rich in nutrients.
Each package contains 1.5 g of "Butelkowa" ornamental squash seeds. Package information contains a growing guide and the sow-by date.
