Ornamental Rice ‘Black Madras’ is an exceptionally decorative annual plant that is recommended to be grown along with ornamental grasses, or to flank ponds or decorate fences. This variety grows up to 40 centimetres in height and produces very dark foliage. Magnificent as it looks, Ornamental Rice ‘Black Madras’ is comparatively straightforward to grow.

Growing: sow the seeds from February to May; cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil. Grow the plants in sunny positions at a temperature of around 20-25oC. This variety flowers from May to October. The plants can be grown in the soil or in containers.
