The yellow-flowered tree lily (Lilium OT), a flower bed giant with sunny yellow flowers is a magnificent variety that stands out with strong vigour and exceptional ornamental value. This up to 200 cm tall bulbous perennial develops clusters of flowers that consist of large bowl-shaped blooms. A single plant can develop a dozen or even several dozens of those large cups. Tree lily flowers consist of fleshy long lanceolate petals that picturesquely bend back. That way they display the bundles of long anthers. The contrastingly coloured orange brown anthers perfectly complement the bright yellow, lively and cheerful colour of the flowers. Each abundant cluster of flowers sits atop a thick and strong erect stem that is covered with dark green narrow leaves that are gathered in dense verticils.

The majestic tree lilies were bred as hybrids of trumpet and oriental lilies. Their extreme size and flowering power are not the only advantages of these dazzling plants. The noble orienpets show high resistance to diseases and pests and are hardy. They do not require any covering before the winter and are rather undemanding in regard to the site on which they grow. The tree lily bulbs can be planted on sunny or partially shady sites that should preferably be sheltered from strong wind gusts. These plants need light, moist, fertile soils that are rich in humus. You don't have and even shouldn't transplant them to often. They will bloom abundantly on the same site for years. Tall and abundantly growing orienpet lilies deliver high quality flowers for fresh bouquets. On flower beds they look great both planted single and in compositions with other mid-summer perennials, such as phlox, canna lily, yarrow, daylily and dahlia.

Each package contains one extra-large bulb of the yellow-flowered tree lily sized 18/20 cm. The basic plant growing instructions were printed on the package.
