The white "Diamant" astilbe (Astilbe x arendsii) is a classic variety developing magnificent inflorescences that look like if they would have been covered with a layer of hoar frost. This resistant, sturdy and undemanding perennial grows usually 60 to 70 cm tall and takes on a dense, bushy habit. Its odd pinnate, lanceolate, ornamentally denticulate leaves maintain high decorative value all season long. The ear shaped inflorescences that delight with their clean, snow-white colouring, tower over the foliage in July and August. This variety has been rightfully named so - "Diamant" means "diamond" in German - as it has all the features to become a gem of every border.

Rhizomes of the false spirea, as some call the astilbe, should be planted in spring in humous, moist and slightly acidic soil. The presented perennial feels best on waterlogged sites and would need plenty of watering on sunny, drier locations. This is your ideal candidate for shady corners and empty spaces around tall trees, as the shade does not impair its blooming in any way. The snow-white "Diamant" astilbe will fully develop its ornamental potential in compositions with fens, hostas and other astilbe varieties with red, pink, purple and crimson-red flowers, that are available in a wide selection in our online store.

One package contains 1 large and healthy rhizome sized 2/3. Plant growing instructions were included in the package information.
