The Berlusconi gladiolus is a tuberous plant who owes its popularity to the long, large clusters of flowers. Presented variety produces light coral pink flowers. The white spot in the middle of the flower constitutes an additional decoration. The over one metre tall gladioli bloom reliably in July and August. A group of those erect plants can display its full potential on a tall border or in focal part of a lawn. They are usually grown for excellent, durable cut flowers. In summer, huge bouquets of those plants can often be found in ball rooms, in wedding decorations, and at many other occasions.

Gladioli should be planted on sunny sites. The soil should be carefully prepared, preferably in autumn of the previous year. Planting of the corms shall start mid-April when the soil warms up and water from thawing snow has already soaked in. Place bulbs with the pointed side facing up about 8 to 12 centimetres deep and 15 centimetres apart. Weed the site and prevent the soil from crusting during the entire season. Feed gladioli with a multicomponent fertilizer a few times during their intensive growth. Do not let the plants dry too much - it is recommended to keep the soil moderately moist at all times. Cut the wilted flowers that were left on the plants and not used in bouquets to prevent plants from losing energy for seed production.

Gladioli belong to species that cannot survive harsh Central European winters on borders. You must take out their corms in autumn, dry them a bit, and remove plant and soil rests. You can store them layered in airy containers in rooms at temperatures within the 8 to 10 ?C range.

One package contains 50 gladioli bulbs of the presented variety. These bulbs are sized 12/14 centimetres in circumference. The basic plant information and growing instructions can be found on the package label.
