A tuberous begonia (Begonia x tuberhybrida) of the famous Bouton de Rose variety is a plant that produces large, exceptionally rich flowers. The stunning decorative effect is multiplied by the unique colour combination. The white rosettes of the double flowers have raspberry pink tips. Presented variety blooms reliably from May until the end of the season. Its bicolour flowers that spread over the fleshy shiny leaves constitute an unmatched decoration of all garden spots that lie in partial or complete shade. It makes the plant an indispensable ornament of North-facing gardens and balconies. The Bouton de Rose variety is stylish and gives every arrangement some of its romantic flair. Begonia grows well in a planter yet it also thrives in the garden, provided that the site is not exposed to heavy rain. Low begonia tufts look great at the foreground of a planting where you can easily admire their beauty. Combining begonias with hostas or the colourful elephant ear (Caladium) brings unique visual experience.

Apart from their beauty, begonia is valued for easy growing. Plant begonia bulbs early in spring in rather shallow planters. Always plant the tubers the concave side up. Thanks to the early planting, begonia plants should bear flowers end of spring or beginning of summer. They need a permeable, humous, slightly acidic soil to grow well. A proper, thick drainage layer is a must-have when growing begonia in planters. Tuberous begonias require quite a lot of nutrients and water. Feed them with dedicated fertilizers all season long and keep the soil moist at all times.

The Bouton de Rose tuberous begonia will be a perennial plant provided you dig out the tubers before the winter. Take them out late in autumn. After removing all the green parts, put tubers into a container and cover with sawdust or peat. Store them at 10?C and repeat the growing cycle next year.

Each package contains two tubers of the Bouton de Rose begonia. Basic plant information and growing instructions can be found on the product label.
