The Brown Sugar gladiolus will introduce a touch of adventurous colour to a summer border. Its marvellous funnel-shaped flowers open starting at the bottom of the cluster. Tall slender stems give gladioli an elegant appearance, while the scarlet colour underscores their noble character. The Brown Sugar gladiolus fits onto showcase borders and can be cut for bouquets. Presented flower allows you to build unique, multi-level arrangements. Gladioli grown in larger, irregular spots create a breath-taking sight. Gladioli of the presented variety look great in larger groupings together with sunflowers, Peruvian lilies and montbretias.
This species requires a sunny site and a fertile, humous, moist, and non-acidic soil. These quite high requirements are not that difficult to meet. Gladioli can become disease-prone and weak in cold and loamy soil. Their bulbs are planted end of April and at the beginning of May. Do not plant too deep, an eight to ten centimetres deep hole would be enough. Recommended spacings between the bulbs are ten to fifteen centimetres. Plants of this excellent species are sensitive to frost. You must excavate them in October, cut off the overground part and store until the following spring.
One package contains 50 gladioli bulbs of the presented variety. These bulbs are sized 12/14 centimetres in circumference. The basic plant information and growing instructions can be found on the package label.
