The "Hayley Jane" dahlia is a variety that stuns with its bicolour flowers. It dazzles with colours and quickly attracts attention, both when planted singly and in larger groupings. The "Hayley Jane" is a cactus dahlia variety, whose petals take on an unusual colouring. Its impressive flowers are creamy-white inside and the tubular inward twisted ends are painted bright pink. The blooms sit atop the 100 to 130 centimetres tall stems that are additionally decorated with numerous green leaves. Dahlias of the presented variety bloom from June to October and delight with their ornamental value. A well developed green tuft adorned with large flowers will perfectly complement a tall perennial or seasonal border. It looks great combined with hollyhocks and traditional marigolds. It also looks great planted in picturesque rows alongside buildings and gazebos. You can also use them as flowering hedges or screens. The tall dahlias may also help you to hide the less attractive parts of your plot. A bicolour dahlia of the presented variety will also provide you with excellent ornamental and sturdy cut flowers.

Growing dahlias is not difficult. Only the excavating of the roots before the winter might be problematic for some of the gardeners. Plant them on sunny sites or in only partial shade. The access to sunlight is absolutely essential for the proper development of plants and saturated colouring of the flowers. We recommend to choose spots that are sheltered from the wind because of the tall and slender stems. Staking might be required in case of stems that cannot handle the burden of large flowers. Dahlia needs a permeable, constantly moist, nutrient-rich soil with neutral or slightly alkaline reaction. The abundantly growing and tall varieties, such as the presented 'Hayley Jane' should be planted 50 to 60 cm apart. Their tuberous roots should be put about 5 to 10 centimetres deep, from April to June.  They require watering during periods of drought. Do not forget to remove wilted flowers.  Dahlias react well to fertilization with manure, compost and mineral fertilizers.

Dahlia bulbs do not winter in the ground and need to be excavated in autumn. Trim down the stems first and then carefully dig out the roots. Place them in open boxes that should be kept in a dry room with a stable temperature within the 2 to 4°C range. To ensure better wintering conditions, you may cover the rootstocks with sand or peat. If you notice a significant drop in firmness and wrinkles on the surface of the roots, you may wet them sparsely with water.

Each package contains 1 bulb of the "Hayley Jane" dahlia of premium quality. Basic plant growing instructions were printed on the package label.
