Carpet Salmon Petunia is an annual decorative plant. Its numerous salmon pink flowers grow on 60 centimetre-long pendulous shoots. This variety is irreplaceable as far as cultivation in planter boxes and hanging baskets is concerned. Carpet Salmon Petunia is predominantly grown on balconies and terraces, where its ornamental value is best presented.
Growing: sow the seeds in covered planter boxes or pallet planters from February to March. Mix the seeds with dirt, then scatter them over the soil and lightly press them into it using a small board. The seeds germinate in 2 to 3 weeks at 18-23°C. Prick the seedlings out into pots or pallet planters in holes (around 5 to 6 centimetres in diameter). Plant out into a permanent position in May. This variety requires fertile permeable soils in sunny or semi-shaded positions; it is also recommended to be watered and fertilised relatively often.
