The Chicago Knobby daylily is a charming garden perennial that virtually everyone can grow. The rather undemanding daylily produces pink flowers with a darker hue outside and a bright yellow perianth that wonderfully contrasts with bright green leaves. The edges of the three top petals are adorned with a frill that adds a nice touch to the large blooms. A fully developed Chicago Knobby daylily tuft grows 50 to 65 centimetres tall and flowers in July and August. Daylilies are multi-purpose plants. They thrive on borders and flower beds on lawns. They look great in groupings and long rows in which the leaves decoratively bend. Plants of this species constitute a great decoration of garden water reservoirs.

Presented plant is easy to grow and tolerates various types and reactions of the soil. It will develop well in an average soil, provided it is enriched with a dab of compost. Daylily can be successfully grown on sunny sites and in partial shade. It only does not like full shade. The maintenance of daylily tufts is limited to watering during periods of drought and removing of last-year foliage in the spring. Fertilizing the rhizomes from time to time is also worth the effort. Plant daylily early in spring or in autumn. Place the rhizomes about 5 centimetres deep and keep seedlings 30 to 60 centimetres apart. A daylily belongs to long-lived perennials that can grow on the same spot for years. It is hardy. We recommend cutting the leaves after the first frost and cover the plant with a thin layer of mulch or conifer twigs.

Indicated price is valid for 1 premium quality daylily rhizome of the presented variety. The bag with the rhizome is equipped with a label that contains basic plant facts and growing instructions.
