The Christmas Is daylily is an exceptional, beautifully coloured variety. Large, broadly opening flowers have a yellow-green perianth and bright red petal tips. A daylily proves to be a great addition to every garden with its enchanting bright colours. A single flower measures up to 15 centimetres in diameter and holds for one day. It cannot be considered a severe fault, as the plants produce so many buds that the short-lived flowers are by no means a problem. Tufts of the Christmas Is daylily reach height of about 70 centimetres and spread broadly, producing a fairy-tale appearance on perennial borders. They can stay in the same garden spot for years without losing any of its charm.

The distinct, characteristic Christmas Is can be planted almost everywhere outside shady spots. Provide them with soft, fertile, and moderately moist soil to allow them to produce large numbers of flowers each year.  Many gardeners recommend fertilizing daylily with compost or manure. Fertilization facilitates healthy development of the rhizomes and production of flower buds. Daylily tolerates drought and low temperatures. It does not belong to absorbing plants, the maintenance is limited to occasional watering, removing wilted leaves, and fertilization if needed. You can split the tufts every several years.
