The February Gold narcissus is a popular and valued botanical variety that belongs to the Cyclamineus group of hybrids. Its tender, airy flowers sit at the 30 cm stems surrounded by the grass-like leaves with rounded tips. Their yellow petals are slight bent backwards and therefore resemble falling golden stars. The corona is slightly longer than the average, brightly coloured, cylindrical and crowned with a frill. The flowers reach up to 8 cm in diameter. The presented variety has received the prestigious Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society.

The low growing, vividly coloured February Gold daffodils are a great addition to every garden. They belong to the earliest blooming flowers and together with other early flowering bulb plants constitute a great ornament of the borders, path and pavement edges and rock gardens already in February and March. They can be easily naturalized on lawns and under trees and shrubs. You may also grow them in planters and boxes.
The narcissi prefer sunny and partially shady sites. They do not have any special requirements and are rather undemanding. A fertile, moist and permeable, yet not waterlogging soil offers the best conditions for these plants. The site may remain dry after the flowering period has ended. Start the planting with enriching the soil with compost, what would give the plants a head start in spring. The soil needs to be thoroughly cultivated and weeded, too. We recommend to remove the wilting flowers in order to prevent them from developing seeds. Narcissi belong to frost resistant plants. You may cover them to be sure that they winter well, especially if you expect a cold, but snowless winter. This plant species is seldom attacked by diseases and pests.

The price quoted here is valid for 5 bulbs of the February Gold daffodil, sized 12 to 14 cm.
