Dahlia Creme de Cassis (Dahlia) belongs to varieties producing stunningly ornamental blooms. Bicolour petals are pale pink at the upper side and dark pink underneath. Plants take on a compact habit and their stiff stems are covered with compound, dark green leaves that provide a great background for the inflorescences. This variety belongs to the taller ones reaching 80–100 cm in height. Fluffy spherical inflorescences develop from June until first frosts. Dahlia Creme de Cassis will adorn every border it is planted at, but can also be grown in pots.

Dahlia rootstocks are planted outside at the beginning of May. Choose sunny and wind–sheltered sites for dahlias. This species also prefers soils rich in nutrients and humus, so we advise to mix the earth with compost before planting. The soil should permeable, yet moisture–retaining. Dahlias do not winter in th ground and you have to dig the rhizomes out before first frosts.
