The Edge of Joy dahlia is a variety whose flowers dazzle with its colours. The immaculate white unites with dark pink. Their broad, slightly frizzled petals grow from a golden centre and have a touch of vivid colouring at the edges. Flowers combined with the background of green laves make this plant a real head turner. An easy to grow and long flowering dahlia can become a focal point of every flower bed. The additional advantage of its bicolour flowers is attracting bees. The spectacular show of the Edge of Joy dahlia comes to display in the second half of summer and lasts until first autumn frost. This magnificent plant grows between 50 and 110 centimetres tall. It is recommended for growing on all kinds of flower beds and lawns, alongside fences and walls, and in large planters. Dahlia is a universal plant that can be easily incorporated into the already existing arrangements. The charming Edge of Joy dahlia is waiting for an invitation into your garden.

Growing dahlias is easy. Excavating rootstock before the winter is the only more cumbersome part. Dahlia should be planted on sunny or only partially shaded situations. The appropriate exposition to sunlight is crucial for the healthy development and bright, saturated colour of the flowers. Due to the relatively substantial height and the frailty of the stems, we do not recommend growing dahlia on windy spots. Staking of the flower-carrying stems might be necessary. Dahlia requires neutral or slightly acidic soil that is rich in nutrients, permeable, and constantly moist. Plant dahlias every 50 to 60 centimetres. Put the tuberous roots about 5 to 10 centimetres deep from April to June.  Dahlia requires watering during extended periods of drought. Its wilted flowers should be removed.  Dahlia reacts well to fertilization with manure, compost, and mineral fertilizers.

Dahlia roots stocks cannot winter in the ground and must be dug out in autumn. Trim the stem first and then gently excavate the rootstock. Store the rootstocks in ventilated open boxes in a dry place where the temperature is stabilized between 2 and 4?C. Cover the rootstock with sand or peat for even safer storage. If you detect loss of firmness or wrinkled surface on the rootstocks, you can moisten them slightly.

A single package contains 10 pieces of Edge of Joy dahlia rootstock of premium quality. Basic plant growing instructions can be found on the package.
